Awful 2/10 is being nice!!

A hour and and 30mins I will never get back. I was planning on givingit 1/10 but the little twist at the end notched it up to 2/10. Themovie lacked suspense, thrill or action. It was pretty clear from theonset who the bad guys were and the good guys were. The acting wasforgettable. The Aussie with the mustache was comical (hey mate! Howzit going mate? Everything OK mate?) Lol him and agent Ballard both gottheir butt kicked a couple times in the movie. Any CIA agent whoaccidentally watches this movie would be disgraced the were they werehilariously portrayed. There was a couple times Vinnie Jones AKA agentBallard was caught napping, not knowing which wire to cut on the bombor letting one of the suspects get out of sight to have his Ex fiancéconveniently placed to shoot the suspect. A true CIA agent wouldimmediately disarm a suspect and at least shoot him in the kneecap sohe/she doesn't attack them again, not agent Ballard though. There was more action and suspense in the movie Devil Wears Pradacompared to this flick. I yawned my way to the end of the movie with 13yawns. PS The director Brandon Nutt is truly nuts and Vinnie Jones' headshould audition for the next planet of the apes movie.

Don't bother, seriously..

This film has been done a 100 times before, sadly I can't think of aworse version of the old plane hijack story than this, massive plotholes, a story that lacks any real drama and acting that is straightout of the wood shop.Being an MMA fan and having met Randy, I was interested to see how hedid in a full feature as a main cast member and although he isn't theworst MMA crossover actor I have seen, sadly he brings nothing to therole than a million other actors couldn't have done also.Purcell - brilliant in Prison Break, picking up a cheque here, he goesthrough the motions and as another review said, he barely says anythingthroughout. The script leaves a lot to be desired so much as one moment they are atthe front of the plane, next moment at the back - yet never bumpinginto the bad guys who are looking for them and I am pretty sure theydon't have a Hogwarts invisibility cloak....They find the hijackers parachutes and....leave them there, dudes atleast cut a cord or three!!! All in all, left me thinking who on earthwrote this and why didn't anyone pick up on all the glaring errors, butthen the cheesy way the film is shot - the director it seems has triedto emulate many moody scenes, panning shots etc but all come off ascheap and crass.Save your time, go watch some adverts instead! Sorry Randy, loved ya asan MMA legend, but...this is worse than coming back from retirement!

Bad... in the worst sense of the word!

Without doubt, one of the worst movies I've ever had the misfortune ofsubjecting myself to! The movie starts bad, with Vinnie Jones playing apart that's completely out of character, and from there, it just getsworse... much worse! I won't talk about the glass bowls and decanters, etc, placed on thetables of a plane that's about to take off, instead, I'll talk aboutthe worst plot, worst acting, and worst movie I've probably ever hadthe misfortune of watching! Actually, I'm lost for words... I'm tryingto think of a few fitting, critical remarks about the movie, but it wasso bad, that I'm struggling to comment, without adding spoilers andresorting to profanities! All I can say is, if you feel the need towatch this movie, but have a couple of spare needles in the house, I'dstrongly suggest holding the needles over a flame, then inserting theminto your eyes, because with hindsight, I would rather stick red hotneedles in my eyes than watch this movie! One of, if not the worst movie I have ever watched, and giving it ascore of 1 out of 10, doesn't even start to describe how bad it is! Doyourself a favour and buy some needles... or you'll wish you had!

Good - will probably watch it again sometime.

I was lucky enough to catch this flick on the fly recently, and I'mglad I did...An Action/Suspense/Spy movie, it stars Randy Coutoure and Vinnie Jonesin a plot involving a CIA op against a crime organization. Also goingon is Coutoure not being over his relationship with his ex-fiancée. Itseems that he is thinking of trying to reconcile with her, and it seemsthat she might not be over him either.Coutoure is not known for acting skill, but he does a credible job inmaking this film a good watch. Vinnie Jones turns in his usual welldone performance doing what he does so well, the British/Aussieaccented tough guy.The ex becomes entangled in the CIA/Crime intrigue and naturallyCoutoure becomes as active in protecting her as he is in finishing hisassignment. And just as naturally, he has to do it on his own ascircumstances result in him being non-official.This is a well done action and suspense movie with a little romanticinterest thrown in for good measure. The suspense is somewhatunderstated to begin, and builds more about half way through, with moreand more implicated individuals, which I felt was effective. And whenthe action kicks in, it also builds effectively and realistically inthat it is sporadic. And the fight choreography is pretty good... andRandy is not the only one kicking ass, literally and figuratively.Does Randy get the girl (back)? Well, this one is well worth watchingto find out, as well as to see the plot twist at the end.

Judge for yourselves!

From the very beginning,it was apparent that this film was in the Bcategory. It took too long building up to the purpose of the film tostart with. The acting was a bit wooden too. I bought it in partbecause I saw that Vinnie Jones was in it, however I would've thoughthe'd have been in the movie for a lot longer than he actually was.As usual when the scene is on an aircraft, the effect is spoilt becauseyou can hardly hear the sound of the engines, making it hard to believeyou're airborne. I'm a huge aircraft fan and familiar with cockpitprocedures and was disappointed to note that, apart from having aflight crew sat there, they did little of what pilots would've done inreality. when the action gets going, there's far too muchindiscriminate shooting going on which, again, in reality would'vecaused a catastrophic decompression. On a plus side, the filming was very good and you do get a sense ofmoney having been spent on costumes and set decor.Overall, there is no feeling of being terrified of the events takingplace and the movie had a flat feeling about it. I guess I've beenspoilt by excellent films, such as Skyjacked, with Charlton Heston, orWesley Snipes Passenger 57, not to mention Red Eye with Cillian Murphy. The DVD was only a fiver though so didn't cause me to worry about theexpense!

I like dumb action flicks but this movie is just being stupid!

The whole approach to this movie took me back to the '80's, an era whenthe genre was at an all time height and the story didn't seemed tomatter all that much. The era of big, dumb, overblown action movies, inwhich a lot of classics got made but even more absolutely horriblemovies. I'm sad to say that this is also an absolutely horrible movie, that does some absolutely stupid things.First of all, for most of the time I had absolutely no idea what wasgoing. About halfway in it, I still had no idea who all these people onthe plane were and why they were on it and what the hijackers wantedexactly. And it's not done in a mysterious thriller type of way but alldone in a clearly incapable and lazy way. The storytelling is justabsolutely horrible at times and the way the entire movie flows anddevelops certain story elements are done in an atrocious way!Every time I thought that the movie would start to become potentialgood and interesting it would cut off and go to something completelydifferent. You could say that the movie is being way too short andshould had taken its time with some of its story- and characterdevelopment. Yes, it sounds strange but I wanted this awful movie to belonger, so some things could had developed into something potentiallygood and more interesting maybe. The editing makes the movie all the more worse at times. I don't knowbut it at times feels as if entire sequences were missing and it attimes makes some sudden jumps. It will confuse you and lets some suddendevelopments and scenes come across as incredibly stupid. And I also can't really say that this is an action filled movie. Thereare a couple of good old fashioned fist fights and some weapons getfired but overall its just nothing tense or spectacular to watch. Thereis of course only so much you can do with its premise and settings butsimple fact is that there are plenty of other genre movies around thatdo a great job with its concept of a plane being hijacked in midair, soit really shouldn't be an excuse for this movie. And how are the likes of Randy Couture, Dominic Purcell and VinnieJones in this? Absolutely awful, though I feel you can't blame any ofthem really. When given the right material, all of them still could besome decent action hero stars. It's just as bad as any other dumb, low budget, action flick but thismovie does some very stupid and incompetent stuff as well, making thismovie worse to watch than just the average genre attempt.3/10 http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/

OK if you are not expecting james bond

clearly a low budget film and the staging and stock shots evidencethis. but for what it is, it works. tough guys, good looking girls, andlots of action. i liked the flight attendant, the journalist and thepilot.... that's the guy i want in the cockpit on my next flight. I amup for a sequel and this movie sets the stage nicely for one. Onlydifference I would like to see is on the budget. spend five times whatwas spent on the first movie (whatever that amount was ) and you willhave a good picture. I am not saying you need to be on location but getstaging the has the rounded appearance and proportions of an airplanenot a hotel lobby and cast situation actors conforming to the purportedlocation.

Awful, awful, awful

Where do I begin? Vinnie Jones (not known for his breadth of actingskills) must have sighed with relief as he got killed off early in thefilm, avoiding the cringing embarrassment that was to follow. Thescript, acting and plot were totally leaden. Even the pilots wereunconvincing as they went about their checks. Also, what about thebullets that were being sprayed around at 37,000 feet? Has anyone heardof pressurised cabins? Fortunately the set was so unconvincing that atno time did I think they were airborne (loved the plastic plane flyingthrough the air a la "Thunderbirds").I have to admit that I gave up half way through - life is too short towaste on this film when there is wet paint to watch dry orencyclopedias to read....

Highly Enjoyable Thriller

OK, it isn't going to be a classic and will never win an Oscar or anymajor award, but I found this film to be very enjoyable andentertaining right the way through. Vinnie Jones actually acts foronce, which was a pleasant surprise in itself, and he did a terrificjob, much better it has to be said than many of the other members ofthe cast. The plot-line is fairly straightforward but the ending wasn'tpredictable, which these days is a bonus. The whole movie moves alongat a nice pace; no boring bits to contend with.Watch it if you get a chance.

Hopeless attempt at thriller action movie

I was intrigued to see Vinnie Jones in this movie as he is slippingdown the ratings and only popping up in low level rubbish these days.As soon as the movie started i realised this was also low levelrubbish, there is something charming and addictive to seeing low budgetmovies, I usually end up laughing at the plots that fall apart andsilly fight scenes. This did the same for me, Vinnie even invited hisown death from a beautiful assassin, such a silly plot, continuousdrivel dialogue, over and under acted plots, it has everything that lowbudget movies throw out. I tried laughing but it wasn't quite badenough to become a comedy. I ended up playing some online game with my10 year old daughter while the movie was playing. There was no suchthing as a hidden plot as the link between some mysterious terroristgroup the the Lieb organisation was given to us in the first 1 minute, that is usually a bad sign when they explain the plot in theintroduction. Quite appalling but not complete tosh. but not worth thetime wasted on watching it.

I wanted to like this, I really did

The picture begins successfully enough with the under appreciatedVinnie Jones playing a suave British secret agent. Looking snazzy in atuxedo, cool and cunning. You know he can jump into action and kicksome serious butt at any minute, but first he must flirt with theladies. This opening seems to make a successful case for ol' Vinnie asthe next 007. Unfortunately, this is not a Vinnie Jones show and aftera rather tedious shootout, Jones disappears from the movie alltogether.Hijacked is a routine, merely adequate action vehicle for Expendablesstar Randy Couture. Incompetently Directed by Brandon Nutt, this Nuttseemed to believe in the film's merits as he co-produced as well.Couture, the Washington state born former UFC superstar turned actionhero makes a go at his first starring role, I wish I could say he isthe next great action star, but I just can't. He is stiff and lackingthe essential charisma for that, he has an unkempt look reminisce ofJason Statham, but is lacking the Stath's virtues. Here, Couture iseasily over shadowed by his more experience co-star Dominick Purcell, who gives the film's best performance. The story is familiar, the plotting strictly by the numbers. Theproduction at least looks good, the first part of the picture is set inParis, so we get some better than expected locations, not the far toocommon ugly grays of Eastern Europe, which is cheap to film in. Most ofthe story takes place on an airplane though, this will make manyviewers aware of superior actioners of the past such as Air Force Oneand Executive Decision. Not too much on the action front either as wemuch wade through nearly half the movie for it to really get going, then it precedes to take silly turns with lots of gunfire on theairplane. It all goes on too long, too boot. Finally landing with ayou've got to be shitting me "twist" ending. Couture's professionalnickname was "the Natural", obviously it applied to his athleticskills, because when it comes to his movie star cred, he is anything, but a natural.

I sat through some of this thinking it would become funnier...

Cool - here comes Vinnie Jones, whom I'm a big fan of & DominicPurcell. The aircraft scenes look like they're shot in a hotel - very confusing.Do they really have glass fruit bowls sitting on polished woodentables? Or cargo bays with cars inside, fully pressurised andair-conditioned with extensive lighting and stairs leading up to thepassenger compartment? The action... they do a clever job of avoiding any real action onscreen - and there is no excitement or suspense. The budget for this movie obviously wouldn't even cover the price ofadmission. The story was so bad, and the plot so sad, that I had toresist the urge to turn it off for a while. Initially thinking it wasgoing to be a pythonesque slow starting rip roaring comedy...The joke's on me for wasting 40 minutes on this trash!

Worst movie I've ever seen...

...or so I thought, at least before the very end. No spoiler alerthere, but I gotta say, the end kinda salvaged this one from being awhirlwind fail of epic proportions. After watching Hijacked, one thing is entirely and abundantly clear,Randy Couture is no actor, and probably never will be. I didn't watchthis in the first place because I thought so, no, I picked this onebecause Randy Couture is a former MMA fighter, and that's what I wannasee him do in movies: fight. There are a few of those sequences inHijacked alright, but those are way too scarce and way too short.Instead of writing a role for him where he had to manhandle hisopponents the right way, the producers and writers of Hijackedobviously want the other way, hoping they would outsmart us all, bygiving Mr Couture a dialog driven part. Well, that didn't work out sowell, so they actually outsmarted themselves.Yes, there are a few glimpses of real surprise, like two very prematuredeaths for instance, but that's right about it. Often enough you shouldstick with what you know, because 99% of the time it will work, butthat's not what they were gunning for here. The dialogs seem to havebeen written by some five year old, the acting is at times worse thanat my local summer amateur theater, and the story line seems like apotpourri of movies seen a thousand times before. Why in the worldDominic Purcell agreed on participating is way beyond me. And VinnieJones probably just did it for a laugh, or maybe he lost a drinkingbet, I don't know.To be fair, the story would have been sufficient, if there would havebeen less dialog and more fighting. Just a good ole Steven Segal-esquemovie, that would have done just fine. But no, they wanted to make a"real film" out of it, and in the end missed almost all points by amile. So yeah, this movie has no point at all, and I'll be damned ifever watch this one again. As for Randy Couture, well, I think his stuff might even work as alead, but he would need a real script for that, less dialog and sure ashell more fighting scenes. Because that's what he does best, and if hedoesn't see that, well, than his acting "career" is already done. Iwould watch real action movies starring Randy Couture as the leadpersona, I really would, because the fights on Hijacked, as short asthey were, reminded us of what he can do with his fists, elbows andknees, so just let him do that. All that of course doesn't mean writean awful movie and Couture will fight his way through. No, writesomething good, something that actually makes sense, and then you lethim fight the bad guys. Sounds rather easy, but as Hijacked has showed,it's far from it.

Bad writing and/or directing.

I enjoy a good movie without action, but this was touted as an actionflick. We used to get more action from Ozzie and Harriet.Unfortunately, with this unbelievably contrived and obvious script, even a tough guy like Randy Couture didn't have a chance. First, Mr.Couture was much more soft-spoken, easy going and mild- mannered thanhe should have been, and he along with all the CIA agents werelaughably inept. If an amateur manages to knock a person down and hestays down, I suppose that person might possibly lay down his weaponand go over to comfort a frightened woman, but a trained andexperienced CIA agent? Give me a break. These guys did this sort oflame trick throughout the picture just to give their opponents anotherchance to jump them, thus prolonging the movie to its obligatory ninetyminutes, and of course we knew who the Real Bad Guy was before thecredits stopped rolling. Sorry guys. I like Randy Couture and VinnieJones too. Mr. Jones really got the short end of the stick here, but Iguess a job's a job. Boy was that a dollar wasted at Red Box. I shouldhave bought a lottery ticket at the machine next to it.

Hijacked takes the action out of action film

While he's done some other movies here and there, none have given MMAlegend Randy Couture more exposure than The Expendables. After thesuccess of that film it comes as no surprise that he is now getting thechance to headline his own action film in Hijacked. Clearly he has theaction ability, but is he ready to carry a film all on his own as aleading man? Hijacked follows a special agent who is trying toreconcile with his ex, but when the plane they are on gets hijacked bythe crime lord he is chasing he will have to put the relationship onhold and get into action. This movie is in the same vein as films likeDie Hard 2 and Passenger 57 with one major difference, the action. Howyou can take an actor who is clearly built and known for fighting andthrow him in a movie with very little action is a mystery. This filmfails to deliver in a big way on the one thing it needed to work, theaction. There is little to no action throughout this movie and whatlittle there is becomes pretty forgettable fast. Here you have a simplestory similar to every action movie to come along in the 90's, throw ina guy who has the look and the real life training to fight and theygive him no fights at all. There are a few shoot outs here and there, but the couple of fights you get could have been done by anyone.Couture actually does a decent job with his acting and could haveeasily delivered a fun action movie, but thanks to this film he istreading on doubt of becoming a true action hero. This is was a huge disappointment. Make no mistake anyone willing tocheck this out doesn't expect much from Couture himself as he is stillfinding his footing as an actor, but the action was the saving grace ofit all and it's just not there. If you're a fan of Couture and reallyneed a fix, just go check him out in the upcoming Expendables 2 anddon't let this film soil your memories of him.http://www.examiner.com/movie-in-dallas/bobby-blakey

Its a low budget action movie

This is a low budget movie with a typical hijack airliner plot. Thereis nothing outstanding about the storyline. The set is also poorly andunrealisticly made and it looks like all the action is taking place ina cheap downtown hotel rather than a private aircraft. The acting isalso a bit one dimension, where good guys a tough, girls are pretty andbad guys are dumb and unlucky. One bright thing about this movie is the hand-to-hand combat scenes. Itis generally exciting although it can be a bit predictable. Overall it's 3.5/10. I give them credit because it's a low budgetmovie. Watch it only if you can't find anything else to watch and keepyour expectation down.

Always room for a cricket bat.

Randy Coutre is Passenger 57 with an executive decision when hisfiancée is on a plane that has been threatened for some silly reason. He's already fed up though because Vinnie Jones has been killed andsomething is a little fishy about Craig Fairbrass, because he hangsaround with his sister and does nothing but wear his suit and lookold...To say this film gave me Deja Vu is an understatement, but its not allthat bad. Coutre is going to be a good direct to DVD action star andnothing else, but he does have his limits, but he is a good screenpresence, compared to Stone Cold movies, these are high art.The film is littered with D-list stars, Jones is in it for all of fiveminutes, but does a good job, Fairbrass does very little, but if yourfrom the UK you will always find him entertaining.Purcell has a moustache and looks light years away from Blade: Trinity, but is good, and then there is that one from Jeepers Creepers, and shesucks the life out of every single scene she is in, she's really thatbad, and wow, she looks really old.All in all, its throwaway stuff, nothing really exciting orgroundbreaking, but its fun in a really dodgy, bad way.

Poor

I watched this movie, without reading any of the reviews here. I sawthe actors, read the plot and so I thought I would be watchingsomething spectacular.Sadly.... this movie, that misses the most vital ingredients to make ita good movie, is just a badly copied and slightly changed version of somany good hijack movies that already exist. Even movies from the 90'shave better acting, more suspense and way-more special effects. Besides the predictability of this movie is huge! In short: this movie is not worth your time and money to watch. If ahigh-suspense hijack movie is what you're looking for, please do rentor buy another movie. I think Dominic Purcell(Prison Break) is a great actor, but in thismovie he's definitely at his best. This goes for other good actors inthis movie as well.

unconvincing & not worth it throughout

I expected a B movie with some cheesy action to redeem it. Indeed theDVD jacket suggested the bare bones of a plot that the film didfulfill. But nothing could have warned me that fulfillment could be soboring, so stupid, and so unconvincing. One starts to get an idea by the flatness of the dialog and emotion atthe start. Does it ever improve? No. The actors have looks but theynever seem invested. The style is low budget TV or straight to video. Then the first action scene is there delivering nothing worth watchingas well yet nonetheless impressing me: must the characters--good guysand bad--really be that dumb in a firefight? Must they fight so badly?Incredible! Next we get to the airplane and by then there's no doubtwhat will be delivered: a film neither convincing enough to beworthwhile nor cheesy enough to overcome its stupidities. The set saysit by looking nothing like an airplane. The special effects say it bylooking unrealistic. The characters say it by reacting to danger, injury, and threat with true stupidity. The plot says it by lacking somuch common sense in its particulars that there's no buying into anypart of it.I can't recommend this movie on any level. But if you're a glutton forself-flagellation, a fan of boring, or looking for a movie that you canwalk away from without missing anything, then maybe you'll want tocheck this out. In such an ill-considered event, I recommend that youattempt to keep your brain half alive by attempting to note somefraction of the ways stupid will out. For example, as a teaser, howwould you handle events like these: - Protecting self from gunfire.- Moving and fighting while shot, stabbed, or something.- Wound care for your friends.- Someone there to kill you.- On plane expecting bad things will happen.- Airplane safety procedures and equipment.- Keeping somebody captured from posing further threat.- Hide from people who would kill you.I like lots of B action movies. But this one is not worth watching.Really! Find some another movie.

Disappointing and a complete failure, what a Waste Of Time !!

The main reason I watched this film was because Randy Couture is in it,he was in "The Expendables 1 and 2". To me, "Expendables 2" was thebest action film of 2012. Well, "Hijacked" is possibly among the worstof 2012. Now granted, Couture only played a small role in TheExpendables and here he is the leading star. He proves one thing: hecan't act at all. We already kind of knew that from the flawed"Scorpion King" sequel. But he is not the only "star" of this film. Wealso have Vinnie Jones. His part is kind of limited since he's killedin the first 10 minutes. Then we have Dominic Purcell (Prison Break)with an awful "Magnum" mustache. His performance is also one he nowdesperately tries to forget. On with the story: predictable, lacks anyform of tension or thrills. Does not make any sense most of the time. When it comes to action you simply have to laugh when you see thelimited fight scenes that are badly choreographed. So what's left ?Beats me, I just can't understand why cheap garbage like this is stillproduced. Avoid at all costs..
