A little salty.....

The Ice Age franchise is one of those things that boggles me, from theupstart, I have never been a fan, it drones on and on, and every filmis just the three of them on a little journey, with interludes from theacorn loving Scrat.But these beasts keep making money, and although the fourth instalmentsis a step up from the third, I give up disliking the movies because they do their job and the y entertained my six year old.This time Scrat moves an acorn and it causes a continental shift, andthis little incident is the highlight of the film, it all goes downhillfrom there.The three main guys get split from their families and must find a wayto be back, but they run into pirates, led by Peter Dinklage and J-Lo(oh it's her because she sings at the end) and chaos ensues.Oh and the guys are joined by SIDS senile grandmother, for comicrelief, what popular animated franchise would need a loud comic reliefcharacter if they didn't know it was running out of steam?It's watchable while it last, and I avoided the 3-D just because I'dheard bad things about it, but then I squirmed every time a characterpurposely pointed something at the camera.If you are a fan of the movies, you will lap this up. I'm not a fan,and it just did the same as it always does..

Plot One day the earth crack and Sid and Manny and Diego andGranny are crack away and so many weeks ago Sid and Manny and Diego andGranny sees a pirate ship and they fight and fight and Sid and Mannyand Diego and Granny is win and so many weeks ago they sees the islandand they sees Peaches and his mom and they are happy and happy and theyleave together and they explorer this big island and they go to so manythat is the end of the movie. Favourite part My favourite is they arefighting and fighting . Recommendation You can watch the movie becauseit is so nice and that movie is ICE AGE. We'll see if "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dogs Day" can top this good one

To Ice Age Continental Drift, I give the film a 95%, though notdramatic and touching as the first three, but still, has someadventure. The film is the forth installment for the Ice Age serieswith the first staring in a decade ago, 2002, which was going to be atraditional animated film directed by Don Bluth who directed animatedfilms with the main character getting separated from his/her family(ex: "The Land Before Time", "An American Tail", "All Dogs go toHeaven", etc.), believe you and me, if that could have happen then "TheMeltdown", "Dawn of the Dinosaurs" and this one could have beendirect-to-home video sequels to Ice Age (if that happen, not even oneof them could have becoming a box-office hit) but with the 2000animated film, Titian A.E. became a box office flop, that destroyed andshut down 20th Century Fox's traditional animation division, and wasbrought back after the success of the first Ice Age film (witch wasgiven to Blue Sky productions, and being directed by Chris Wedge). Thelame and annoying bit is about this film is that the teenage mammothshow the way they talk (ex:"Busted" "Burn!" "Go stress about your hair",etc.), and also one of them was played by that huge rip-off singer,Niki Manji that and how the film mentions something that won't evenexist for another million years. There are some other actor/actress'that can somehow make some movies be a good target for to end up beinga nominee for a Golden Razzie. But still at least this one didn't turnout to be a huge failure, and also this one has become, like with thethird film: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, a huge box office hit. Plus thecoincidence about this film is that it has two actors form two CBSsitcoms, including: Ray Romano (for Everybody Loves Raymond as RayBarone) who voices Manny and has been in the sires since the first, andKulan Nayyer (for The Big Bang Theory as Raj Koothrappali) who voicesGupta. Also in the film has a great musical score by John Powell (whotakes the place of David Newman for "The Meltdown" and "Dawn of theDinosaurs"). Among that Ice Age Continental Drift is the greatest filmsof 2012.

Ice Age 1-2-3 were better......Number 4.... yikes!

It still feels like yesterday when i saw the first Ice Age in theaters,at first i thought it was just a typical kids movie made to entertainkids only leaving adults bored. But after watching the movie, i laughedso hard my blood pressure rose and i just fell in love with the seriesthroughout my childhood! Anytime a new Ice Age was released intheaters, we had to watch it first before any other movie. No matterwhat was in the film i have always givin a 10/10 for the funny moments.When Ice age 3 came around, i thought it was going to be the best andthe last .. well it was very very good but it wasn't the last. Ithought it was the last film because how Buck chose to stay below :(and Scrats new girlfriend Scratte stayed below ground too and how theending credits was set up.And now.... here comes Ice Age 4, yay!... not. Anyhoo, i went and sawice age 4 today getting excited and all. What a drag it was, If youremember watching ice age 1-2-3 and loved how the herd was still thesame as they were just the fantastic trio. Well, in number 4, itdoesn't seem like an Ice Age to me because of the too many newcharacters and the unnecessary teenage drama with Ethan, Steffie, andPeaches. It was cool how they added pirates and a girl for Diego (itwas about time for that) but the character development was bad.Remember Crash and Eddie? they was only shown in four scenes out of thewhole movie. Ellie wasn't in it much either, nor was Shira! I mainlyblame this movie because of the horrible teenage drama, lack ofcharacter development, too many unnecessary new characters, and lastbut not least, drama queens the horrible trios (steffie, Ethan, Megan)being part of the herd instead of the good ones like Buck, Fast Tony,Scratte, and the baby, the classic ones that deserved to be. Not thesescrew ups.I feel terrible that this is the first time i gave Ice Age a negativereview, but to me, it was the truth. This movie was the worst of thebunch.Hopefully Ice Age 5 will be better. I hope they bring back all of ourfavorite characters from the past that we've come to love during thefirst three adventures, but it seems that the new horrible trios aregoing to reappear once again to ruin it.(you know who im talking about)

After Human Encounter, Global Warming, and Dinosaurs, the Continent is Splitting

We've arrived at the fourth chapter in the "Ice Age" franchise, andbelieve it or not, it's been a decade since the original film. Thefourth one offers a great time for families, and is hilarious. However,after reaching its peak in "Dawn of the Dinosaurs", I felt that"Continental Drift" was unsatisfying when compared to predecessors.After protecting a human child, avoiding a meltdown, and survivingdinosaurs, the super continent of Pangeaea is separating into today'scontinents. All this is caused by our lovable squirrel Scrat,accidentally due to his endless quest to get his acorn. This causes alarge landmass to move and separates Manny from his family (wife Ellieand now-grown daughter Peaches). Manny, along with sloth Sid,saber-toothed tiger Diego, and Sid's "lunatic" Granny, now stranded ona small block of floating ice, attempt to return back. Meanwhile, themoving landmass forces Ellie, Peaches and the other animals to head toa land bridge.During their little journey, Manny, Sid, Diego, and Granny encounter acrew of pirates led by the ape Captain Gutt. From here on, weexperience a whole lot more action scenes than we expected and neededand makes "Continental Drift" as the most action-packed installment ofthe series yet. While this is the most action-packed yet, I still thinkthat the story is a bit lacking in richness. This installment lackssubplots causing me to believe that the filmmakers might have beenquite lazy when writing the film. In fact, they recycled some of theelements from the previous films for this one. Quite embarrassing whenthe previous installments were all brilliant. There were some subplots that try to enrich the story but some of themare just mediocre at best. This refers to the love subplot betweenDiego and one of Captain Gutt's apprentices, a saber-toothed tigernamed Shira. After Diego saved her life, a relationship sparked but ithad poor development. I felt it was too rushed and it would have beenkiller if they had been more careful. But well, it's a family movie.There's another one which features a love triangle between Peaches(Manny and Ellie's 19-year-old daughter), Louis (a mole hog who isPeaches's best friend and who has a crush on Peaches), and Ethan (thepopular mammoth whom Peaches has a crush on and is unexpectedly voicedby rapper Drake). This one was done perfectly and was impressive. I also felt that the film lacked that heart and touching feeling weexperienced in the previous three films. I mean, we were sort oftickled when we discovered Manny's desire for family in the first film,and when we discovered Ellie's past in the second film, and when we sawSid say his final goodbyes to the dinosaurs in the third film. In"Continental Drift" that feeling is gone. Nowhere to be found. Ipersonally felt that that was one of the strongest points of the "IceAge" films but it was nowhere to be found in this one. For the first time, we catch a glimpse of Sid's family. That includeshis mother, father, Granny and etc. Apparently they only came to dump"lunatic" Granny for Sid before they escaped because Granny is too hardto handle. Granny later on makes an addition to the trio and despitebeing sort of crazy, she proved to be useful in the climax of thescene.In "Continental Drift" we meet new species of animals. We meet an ape,kangaroo, wild boar, rabbit, badger, elephant seal, a Blue-footedBooby, and more. Most of them are part of Gutt's crew. Butinterestingly, we meet a creature that is part of legend, Greekmythology to be exact. They are none other than the Sirens. They takeon the appearance of loved ones to lure the animals into danger. Theyare indeed deadly, but were almost unable to lure Scrat, after takingthe form of former girlfriend Scratte. Speaking of Scrat, his quest to grab that acorn continues. This time,he encounters a map that would take him to the heaven of acorns,Scratlantis. He doesn't interact with the trio like they did in theprevious installment. Even if you thought it would be exhausting to seehim again and again, it never gets old. Seeing Scratch's futileattempts at getting his hands on the acorn is just hilarious. I have to say the animation was excellent. It was wonderful, flawlessand extremely detailed. This is a significant improvement over theprevious three installments. The 3D works although it isn't mandatory. There is a big crew of voice talents behind the studio. Ray Romano,John Leguizamo, and Denis Leary, reprise their roles as Manny, Sid, andDiego, respectively and they are still better than ever. Queen Latifahalso reprises her role as Ellie as she drives her character with power.Keke Palmer fills in the role of Manny and Ellie's teenage daughterPeaches, who is stubborn and grown-up. Some of today's hottest singersare also here. Rapper Drake fills in the voice of Ethan whereas NickiMinaj provides the voice of Steffie, another woolly mammoth. We evenhave Jennifer Lopez filling in for Shira. "Continental Drift" may not be a worthy follow-up to the previousinstallments but it promises to be a great fun time in the theaters forfamilies. It's hilarious and the most action-packed entry of the seriesyet. I just felt that it didn't capture the heart of the previousinstallments and the story wasn't rich enough. But hey, it's a familymovie not a drama film. Rating: 7/10Final Verdict: It may not compare to its brilliant predecessors but"Continental Drift" is a promising movie-going experience for familiesfilled with hilarious moments and action-packed sequences.

This Series Is Tired...Why Is There Another Sequel?

I was a huge Ice Age fan growing up as a kid. The original had a greatstory, funny dialog, memorable characters, and stellar animation fromBlue Sky Studios. Since then we've gotten two sequels, Ice Age: TheMeltdown, and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Meltdown had greatanimation, but overall felt like a poorly written sequel designedsimply to suck money from our wallets. Dawn of the Dinosaurs wasbetter; almost as good as the original. It had even better animation,and actually had a good story and some great jokes for both adults andkids. However, as soon as I saw the five-minute Scrat short at lastyear's Rio, I realized that the series had taken a turn for the worst. This is the worst Ice Age film yet. The story feels tired; the jokesare mostly bland; the inclusion of Wanda Sykes as Sid the Sloth'sgrandmother is a huge mistake; and this film commits the greatest ofsins: it has an awful musical number in the middle of the movie. Ugh,it still makes me cringe. The story is about how Manny, Sid, and Diegoare separated from their herd and family after the continent starts tobreak apart. Our heroic trio sail across the sea only to be captured bya band of pirates that sail an iceberg shaped like an old Spanishgalleon. Diego gets a love interest, and Scrat continues to hunt forthat blasted acorn. Sure, the animation is great, and the 3D actually works well, buteverything about this film is just mediocre. From the bad story, to theuninspired voice acting, to the jaw-droppingly bad musical number, andScrat's never-ending screams, this is a franchise that will probablysee another sequel in three to four years, even though it should havestopped with the dinosaurs, and just feels like an excuse to grab morecash rather than create new, inventive animated films.Final Verdict: 4/10

Not as Good as the others

When I heard another Ice Age was coming out to theaters I got realexcited. When I watched the previews I thought they weren't as funny asthey should be but Ice Age has never let me down so I will go see it.It was good but not as good as the first three. This one was funny butit seems only Sid, his grandmother and the other smaller animals werethe only funny one's. The monkey was just retarded how he was writtenin to me. I did like Jennifer Lopez's character. She was a strongcharacter. I think the monkey should have been funny. I loved thegrandma. It was good for kids and I get it that's who it was made forbut the others were good for kids and parents. This one was mostly madefor kids. I do suggest taking the kids to see it and buying it for thekids. I'm not saying the movie was bad but it could have been better.

I think they're getting desperate now..

I saw this film yesterday, and in my opinion it was probably the 3rdbest of the Ice Age films (with Dawn of the Dinosaurs no1) although themore i think about it, it could be the weakest of the series. Just tokeep in mind I only give it a 1 star for how I felt disappointed as Ifeel the writers have tried too hard to make this work but the resultwas not up to the standard of the previous Ice Age movies . Sorry foranyone who disagrees. But let me start from the beginning.It starts off with Scrap breaking the earth up with his nut whichcauses the continents to split up. Wow it seems when they're are noideas it's Scrap who conveniently manages to create a story to work on(I'm not saying i dislike Scrap I just think the writers have startedto overuse him, like in Ice Age-The Meltdown Scrap conveniently saveseveryone by accident). Anyway, after the ice breaks up it then againconveniently breaks up right between Manny and his daughter Peaches(who is now like a teenager which I don't think works) and Ellie. Whichleaves Sid Manny and Diego floating on an ice sheet out to sea. whileEllie,Peaches and everyone else is left on land. Oh i forgot to mention Sid's parents return and dump his grandmother onSid who is with the gang on the Ice Sheet. Although she didn't have allthe lines she did prove to be the cause of a few laughs in the cinemaand was quite a good addition to the gang. Next the ice sheetencounters Pirates where they commander Manny's Sids and Diegos 'ship'and take them as prisoners but almost instantly they break free anddestroy the ship, although there is one ice sheet big enough for Manny,Diego Sid and his grandmother. Oh and also for female Sabertooth tigerwho was part of the crew, I wonder what will happen there?So when they were prisoners the crew say the way to get home is by acurrent on some island where Manny heads to on the ice. They reachthere and find the pirates building another ship to try and find Manny,Diego and Sid. However, Diego, Sid and Manny take the ship with thehelp of these chipmunks. At one point I thought we were watching Alvinand the Chipmunks 3 or something? Anyway, the gang head home, but findEllie and Peaches being held hostage by the Pirates who made anotherIce Ship? *slaps forehead* So, you can see where this is going, Mannyan the the Captain fight but what saves the day is Sids Granny who madea pet whale along the trip who tries to help them and helps fight thepirates, seriously? So after Granny's whale saves the day, everyonelives in happiness with the female tiger becoming part of the herdalong with granny, i'm thinking the herd couldn't get any bigger. It'sgoing to far. There are too many subplots to start, I mean the subplot with Peachesis exactly the same as all the other teen stories. Girl mammoth likesgood looking mammoth while 'good friend' the mole likes the Girl. Girlbecomes one of them and says 'i don't like the mole', mole overhearsand gets upset. Girl regrets and realises she likes who she was and notwhat the cool people want her to be, and that she had happiness allalong. *again slaps forehead which is now bruising*. Also, there's the subplot of the girl tiger who regrets being a pirateand wants to become good, blah blah blah. Oh and scraps story of tryingto find 'Scraplantis' which is good as always with Scrap. Buteverything was to coincidental, cheesy and mixed for me. There were some funny one liners but if you plan to watch this film forthe story or the fact you liked the previous Ice Age like me, thendon't. I know you will anyway out of curiosity but it kind of leavesthe series on a low note. The writers should stop now as you can onlymilk a franchise for so long it becomes dull. It happened with Shrek 4,Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Indiana Jones4 and now Ice Age 4.Disappointing film for a great franchise.

Better as a trilogy...#4 was a disappointment

I just love the ice age series, they were funny, classic, and allaround family fun. Number 4 was indeed funny but an awful sequel to thefranchise. Ill explain why.If you had watched Ice Age 1 thru 3 you can tell how well the characterdevelopment was, i mean everybody like Manny and the herd was in everysingle scene throughout those movies. And the story plots were wellorganized and very entertaining.Ice Age 4 was nothing but a bunch of side stories crammed into a shortfilm, totally confusing! The movie had so many stories and so many newcharacters, it being that way...hardly anybody was shown like Crash andEddie well they were only in three scenes. And Ellie wasn't in themovie much either. Nor was Shira and Diego loving each other..shocking!Lets not forget about the plot, there were a lot of different storiesrather than the main plot.... Peaches love interest, Manny dealing withher teenage life, continental drift, Louis loving peaches, Ethan andhis friends against Louis, teenage drama, and last but not leastDiego's lover shira. BTW Shira and the pirates didn't show up tillhalfway through the film. All of these stories in a 90 min film waslike trying to put twenty pounds of potatoes into a ten pound bag.This movie was supposed to be big about pirates and a lover for Diego,well it was bad enough that Shira and Diego didn't actually show lovefor each other until most of the movie was over, what a drag that was.Honestly, I think the fourth would have been better if Buck and Scrattewere in it more if they had joined the herd from film 3 because Buckand Scratte hit the spotlight instead of these new teenage mammoths anda geeky mole hog. Better yet, if they had stop at 3 and not make afourth. (Buck and Scratte did make a cameo role in Ice Age 4)With that being said, All the new characters in this film as one bigfamily with Manny, this herd will never be the same again!

How the world truly split up into what we know today

Ice Age: Continental Drift tells the story of...well... how thecontinents came apart into what we know today. As this is happening,Manny, Diego, and Sid are separated from Ellie and Peaches during thiscontinental crack-up, and they must find a way back home.Unfortunately, they run into a few pirates along the way. While this ishappening, Scrat finds a map to acorn paradise and is trying to findit.This is a worthy sequel to a great franchise. I don't know why the onlyone that got the best reviews on Rotten Tomatoes was the first one. Tobe honest, each movie keeps on getting bigger and bigger, with this onenot only having a huge problem, but a bad guy along the way.The voices are all great, as well. We have Nicki Minaji, Drake,Jennifer Lopez, Peter Dinklage, and Wanda Sykes were all truly welcometo this franchise. However, it is the main voices that are the truestars here. Queen Latifah is great, as always. Sean William Scott andJosh Peck do a great job at Crash and Eddie, Ellie's possum brothers.And, of course, the main trio. Dennis Leary as Diego is great (Dennisis doing a great job this year; he's got "The Amazing Spider-man" underhis belt, as well). John Leguizamo is always hilarious as Sid. And asfor Ray Romano, let's just say that I'm a big fan of him and his oldshow "Everybody Loves Raymond," so anytime I get to hear him in amovie, I'm all up for it.Overall, it's a great movie. It might seem a little stupid, but it'sthe Ice Age series, so it's all good fun. An 8/10 for me.

I think this was one of the funniest films i ever seen! i smiled andlaughed through the whole movie! i think it was better than themeltdown and the dawn of dinosaurs, especially due to Sid's grandma!she was hilarious! comparing this movie with other films who aresupposed to be comic, this was better and it really teaches ussomething about life!the songs were not perfect, and the Rio's songs were a lot better (inrhythm and lyrics) i watched continental drift in 3D and i think it wasworth it...and i usually hate 3d especially when i need to readsubtitles (this was not the case because i saw it in the Portugueseversion)concluding: great film, great 3D, cheesy songs, better than ice age 2and 3 and you'll certainly have lots of fun!!

not bad but even not good

Ice age 4 is a good but stupid comedy film, meant for kids under eight.The movie has a good start, bad ending part. It didn't improve so muchcompared to last parts. The first part was great,second was aboveaverage, third was average,fourth is average. I saw the movie becauseit's trailer was good and I thought that maybe it will be good. My highexpectations were right till the starting but turned down when themiddle 30 minutes of the movie came. The animation was good but themovie seemed a little foolish to me. The dubbing was good but thedialogues were ridiculous. I think that mammals and squirrels can notexist at the same age. It seemed somewhat a stupid comedy andsupernatural with a surprisingly good story done in a little wrong wayfilm

More fun and adventure in the Ice Age.

The ICE AGE franchise thrives with CONTINENTAL DRIFT. Ellie(QueenLatifah)is trying to calm down Manny(Ray Romano)as he is experiencingthe age gap and trying to understand while protecting daughterPeaches(KeKe Palmer). Sid(John Leguizamo)finds he has real family whenhe is reunited with his Granny(Wanda Sykes). Hapless Scrat(Chris Wedge)and his continued pursuit of the cursed acorn sets off a world-changingsequence of events triggering a continental drift. In the scurrysearching for safety Manny, Sid and Diego are separated from the othersas they are set adrift and end up using an iceberg as a ship. They willencounter inept pirates and other obstacles in their way of finding theway back home. I really like this cast of characters better than thosein the Madagascar movies. There is plenty of adventure and what seemsobligatory mild rude humor; but believe me, no one will go awaydisappointed. Others lending their voices: Jennifer Lopez, SeannWilliam Scott, Peter Dinklage, Jennette McCurdy, Josh Gad, Nick Frostand Aziz Ansari.

This was so... bad! I wanted to like it but I couldn't.

Ice Age Continental Drift has almost no redeeming qualities about it.Being a fan of the Ice Age films I was looking forward to what Ithought might be the finishing touch on a great series.NOT SO! Firt off I would like to start by saying what I liked about themovie which was not very much. The best things in the film were; Sidreunites with his grandmother played by a very funny Wanda Sykes andshe was the best thing going for the story, A new character nicknamedWeiner who happens to be best friends with Manny's daughter Peaches whogrew up awfully quick I might add and last but not least watching Scratfinally get his acorns; or so we thought! The rest of the movie wasabysmal. Diego's new girlfriend Shira was not a welcome addition. Shewas not likable at all! Captain Gutt was also bad as the main villainand all his sidekicks were too! Also Sid reunites with his family before they abandon his grandmotherand him again? What a horrible message for what is supposed to be afamily friendly film. The sexual jokes were also not appreciated and Ifelt very uncomfortable watching this and knowing that young childrenare being submitted this tripe. How much lower can we go? I will admitDawn of the Dinasaurs had it's moments of dirty humor but was not evenclose to this crap.If you happen to enjoy this film I have no problem however as a fan ofmost of the movies this one made The Meltdown look like a prize and Iwas not fond of that one either.

Oh my goodness what have they created!?!

I have always been a huge fan of the Ice age series, number 1 willalways be my favourite because it was their original characters thatmade it, and number 2 not far behind because of the ingenious idea of amammoth thinking she was a possum. I wasn't that keen on number 3 butit was still much better than this! Much like Bambi 2 where they threw in a couple of adult scenes thatstuck out against the cutesy cutesy childish scenes this movie wasalmost completely aimed at children. I think even young teenagers wouldcringe away from how humanised its become, take Peaches and her gang ofmammoth friends who the animators took too much time trying to humaniseby giving them human names (Ethan?) and making them act like ZackEffron and Vanessa from Highschool Musical. And if this wasn't badenough there's a really cheesy sing song scene that should never havebeen done. EVER. The story line was flat and predictable and with all the new charactersbrought in they were all flat and under developed. The only newcharacter that brought any kind of Joy to the movie was Sid's grannywho was the only light in what could only be described (for the firsttime of it's series) as a very cheesy children's movie. I think by keeping Peaches as an infant, and having non - sing songpirates this movie might have been saved as they could haveconcentrated more on the fewer characters they brought in (Sids granny,the pirates and especially more time to develop the romance betweenDiego and the female saber rather than them just falling in love within30 mins) and the older characters this movie forgot (crash and eddiewere almost no where to be seen in this movie). Was a realdisappointment for such a huge fan and while I was determined to go andsee it another 4 times or so at the cinema after eagerly awaiting it- Idon't think I'll bother. I understand this movie is AIMED at kids but there was nothing stoppingit before for making it just as enjoyable for adults to, since adultsare the paying customer I think you will notice a large drop in salesespecially from dedicated fans such as myself. Fun for the whole family.

Although not regarded in the same league as the Pixar and Disneyoutput, the initial three Ice Age instalments collected over $2bn atthe worldwide box office. (Rather surprisingly, that's $100m more thanthe Toy Story trilogy earned.) Posting figures as huge as that means weget treated to another adventure with mammoth Manny (Ray Romano),sabre-tooth tiger Diego (Denis Leary) and silly sloth Sid (JohnLeguizamo); this time with pirates. Like each episode before it, IceAge 4 prides itself in offering up goofy laughs and goofier characters,with the ragtag bunch of pirates – led by Peter Dinklage's drollCaptain Gutt and assisted by Nick Frost's uproarious elephant sealFlynn – the source of much joy. The old gang don't dissatisfy either:Sid is the standout as usual but Diego gets more laughs than normal andScrat's little journey is ever-amusing. The serious Manny is still,well, the serious Manny, but you can't win them all. The bucket load ofaction remains too, however nothing here tops the dinosaur rumbling inpart three. Continental Drift is gratifying escapism for the wholefamily that, despite being the fourth outing for these prehistoriccreatures, shows few signs of letting up.

We'll see if "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" can top this good one

I give Ice Age Continental Drift a 95%, though this one is not thatmuch dramatic and touching as the first three, but still, has someadventure (the more adventure in the film, the more popular). The film is the forth installment for the Ice Age series with the firststaring in a decade ago, 2002, which was going to be a traditionalanimated film directed by Don Bluth who directed traditional animatedfilms with the main character getting separated from his/her family butwith the 2000 animated film, Titian A.E. became a box office flop, theduties for making the film were giving to Blue Sky animations. The lame and annoying bit is about this film is that the teenagemammoths how the way they talk (ex:"Busted" "Burn!" "Go stress aboutyour hair", etc.), and also one of them was played by that cheapsinger, Niki Manji that and how the film mentions something that won'teven exist for another million years. There are some otheractor/actress' that can somehow make some movies be a good target forto end up being a nominee for a Golden Razzie. But still at least thisone didn't turn out to be a huge failure, and also this one has become,like with the third film: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, a huge box office hit,(I mean it not like children are tying up there parents and draggingthem to that film). Plus the coincidence about this film is that it has two actors eachform two CBS sitcoms, including: Ray Romano (for Everybody LovesRaymond as Ray Barone) who voices Manny and has been in the sires sincethe first, and Kulan Nayyer (for The Big Bang Theory as RajKoothrappali) who voices Gupta. Also in the film has a really epicscore by John Powell (who takes the place of David Newman for "TheMeltdown" and "Dawn of the Dinosaurs"). Among that Ice Age ContinentalDrift is the greatest films of 2012.

Why?

First of all, let's look at which public this movie's trying toattract. The kids of course. That's why this is a great movie. So muchcolors, funny characters, exciting adventureess and more. Well.. Now let's be realistic.The story was soo clichГѓВ©. I think I saw about every clichГѓВ© there is inthe film industry. It was completely predictable. The characters.. I think they were OK. Didn't develop really in anyway. The cast.. Well you can't see them act, which I think for some is anapprovement.Overall: Did I like this movie? No.. Was it horrible? well no. Was itworth making another sequel: no. They had an OK trilogy and this justadds The extra O in OK.

Quite simply not good.

This is now the fourth addition to the Ice Age franchise. I mean, comeon? I mean, Hollywood, what is going on here? I wish we could go backto the days of originality, where it was new ideas to and fro. Now, allwe've been seeing are repeats, remakes, bad sequels, etc. I didn't wantto see this after Dawn of the Dinosaurs, nor had I planned on it, butyou know, when a girl invites you to a movie, you can't pass it up. Wewere going to see the Dark Knight Rises, (for me, it would've been thesecond time) but then I told her Ice Age was playing and she wanted tosee that instead. At first when I went in, I thought we had the wrongmovie, for a Simpsons cartoon played before the movie. I thought theyhad made another Simpsons movie that I had not heard about, but thatseemed unlikely, for I know practically everything about upcomingmovies. But then the movie began, and what do you know? It was bad andunnecessary.Manny, Sid, and Diego, our trio that we came to love from the originalIce Age movie, are now all blah blah blah stupid lives. Manny has adaughter, under the name of Peaches...really? Along with that, Sid'sfamily drops off his granny in an evil attempt to ditch the old woman,who was probably the funniest thing about the movie. Diego is hisnormal and ferocious self, nothing new. This takes place during thetime that the one continent, or Pangaea, split up and formed what isnow the Earth's continents. They provide really stupid reasons for howthis came to be, which make you laugh at the stupidity of it. Manny,Sid, Diego, and Sid's Granny get separated from the mammoth family andfloat the large sea on an ice boat. Along the way they encounterpirates, sea creatures, Skrat (I think that's how it is spelled), andadorable little creatures that Sid can speak to doing these weird dancemoves and making sounds that you make to babies when their parentsaren't looking.The movie is funny, but you are only laughing because of the stupidityof it. The movie is basically constructed of Hollywood clichГѓВ©s. Thestory is very rushed, as well, primarily in the beginning. It has a lotto pack into eighty eight minutes, after all. The movie doesn't work asa full movie. It's action scenes that are coated with predictable 3D,and then there's a bit of dialogue in between from the characters, thatwe used to love, who are now just plain moronic. It's not funnyanymore, like it used to be. I guess there's just a point where you gettoo mature for these movies. It's either that, or it's just not good,anyways. I guess the movie is a family movie. The adults will probablylike it if they aren't looking for a good movie, and the children willdefinitely love it. Me and my friend were the only two teenagers in thetheater, and we were probably the ones laughing the most, due to ourimmaturity, and the bleak dumbness of the movie. Overall, I give it a 4, for it was funny consistently, but the movie asa whole was just not good. It made both me and my lady friend laugh.The movie provides dumb laughs, but not because the movie is funny, butjust because the dialogue and jokes are just so dumb. It's like themovie Dumb and Dumber, you laugh at the stupidity. If they make anotherIce Age movie, I will see it, for I always do, somehow. Go see it ifyou aren't looking for a good movie, and you just want some stupidlaughs to make your kids happy. 4/10

Not the best Ice Age movies

I have watched this movie. If we compare it to the previous ice agemovies, it is a little disappointed because this movie had a littlehumorous scenes but had a lot of serious scenes. Hmm, I think have manyserious scenes was not suitable with ice age because ice age is a funnymovies. I wished in this movie, the main character was not Manny'sfamily again. But the fact was Manny's family again, although therewere also Sid'family a little bit. If they add Diego scene with thegirl, I thought its better, because Diego only has a few scenes. SteveMartino and Mike Thurmeier must have another way to make these movies"come back" in box office.
