What's a Putchi-Butchi?!!

That's the question I still have in my head: what in the country-friedflying flip is a putchi-butchi?! I see that Tim Allen is in it, so thismovie can't be that bad, right. WRONG!!!! I applaud at Tim Allen'sperformance as Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story Trilogy, but why shoulda talented actor like him star in this movie? Well, let's take a quicktour in this movie. Over to your right, you'll see a pigeon shoot byMimi-siku with a blow dart on the top of a building in New York City.Wait, a pigeon shot with a blow dart? Wow, now this movie is stoopingto a new low with it's Cannibal Holocaust-like plot line where animalsget killed through the eyes of the camera. How subtle. And then,Mimi-siku climbs into a woman's bedroom and says "Nice Putchi-Butchi".From what he said, I can tell it was something very dirty, like awoman's--- EWWWWW!!! Don't make me say it! Jungle 2 Jungle is like akid's movie version of Cannibal Holocaust and it's a piece of elephantdiarrhea.

Bad Bad Bad

I sincerely apologize to all you who liked the film.Jungle 2 Jungle brings badness to new heights. It is cringe inducing atall times. We continued watching it simply because we could notcomprehend how anything could be so bad. Like a train wreck, we watchedin horror unable to look away. Was it better back in the 90s? I sure hope so.The saddest part is that I like all those actors normally but that didnot help. How this did not get a nod at the razzies I'll never know.We cannot in good conscience recommend this movie. It could cause aloss of respect for Tim Allen and Martin Short.

Creative story for a dull movie

The story i have to admit wasnt really that bad. Just the movie wasn't good. The acting wasn't as good as it could have been. I mean Tim Allen is like my favorite actor when i was a little kid but in this movie he was just average but not great like his other movies. The movie just didn't really fit my taste. If you must see this movie go and see it. But if you are just going through the channels and come upon this and nothing else good is on then go right ahead but dont expect much.

a great 90's movie

this movie is about a man has a son that he never new about that lives in a tribe. Tim Allen is the father and for a little while brings his son to New York City to check his dads world out.

This review is from: Jungle 2 Jungle (DVD) Tim Allen goes from the jungle of Madison Avenue to a rain forest jungle to get divorce papers signed so he can marry again. He discovers he has a son and decides to show him his world in New York. The fun begins when "jungle boy" pees on the door of the airplane before they even land. Things are a lot different for the boy in his father's world. They both find out that "home" is where the boy belongs and a twist ends the show with love and family being the most important things no matter where you live.

Not worth watching

One of the worst movies I have ever seen. I bought the tape for my 11 yearold son but he asked me to stop watching less than half way through thetape. All the actors' performances look rather plastic except for thetarantula.

Not bad...

I'll admit I gave this movie a try because there was nothing else on,but it turned out to be funny, with a great deal of skill on the actorsand actresses parts. Allen portrayed the father rather well, and thekid who played Mi-Mi, (I don't remember the actor's name), did anexcellent job. The casting staff did their job in picking a decent crewto act.If you're looking for a movie that has an intricate plot, don't watchthis one. The plot is quite simple and predictable, after all it's aDisney film, but it's still something I would advise one to rent somenight.

great i own the DVD

jungle 2 jungle is a funny movie about how far some people will go to get to know there families. i own it on dvd and watch it tons, it has a nice storyline and is perfect for everyone of both sexs and all ages. i recommend that everyone sees it im sure you will really enjoy it. it makes a good family film!. if anyone doesnt like it then they dont know what there talking about and are probly stupid.

What were you guys expecting? Citizen Kane?

Jungle 2 Jungle was a family film, not exactly the movie that theOscars were meant for. I've been noticing how a lot of Tim Allen moviesget a lot of heat, I'm wondering if it is just Tim or it is his movies.But I thought that Jungle 2 Jungle was a silly, but fun family film.Yeah, it was incredibly unrealistic, especially dealing with theRussian Mafia, but it was fit for the family to watch.Tim Allen is a trader in New York who is visiting his ex wife in aremote island with natives. But he finds out that they had a son, themother has raised him in the tribes and Miki, the son, has onlyexperienced no more than his native island. But now that he's become aman to the tribe, he wishes to see the city with his father. But it'sgoing to be a hard task when Miki only knows the rules of the jungleand Tim needing to get his priorities straight.Yeah, it's extremely predictable and from what I understand there is amovie called "An Indian In Paris", it's the same plot, but I think somestories need to be reborn for a new generation. I think people justneed to give this movie a chance, it has a few little laughs,especially that cat passing out from the dart! How could you not laugh? 5/10

S T U P I D

The only reason WHY I saw this film was because I was stuck in a traffic jam on a bus and the guy up front popped it in for our "entertainment". I can seriously compare watching this film to being stuck in traffic: dull, unpleasant, and annoying.Oh Disney, when can you ever get it right without mooching off of Pixar?Ok, there is ONE thing that is good about this film and that is the jungle scenery...that lasts for three seconds.Major things in the story were bearly workable; Honestly, would a sunburned blond jungle boy know English perfectly (only substituting "I" for his name)after never speaking it before?When Tim Allen's niece locks herself in her room with his son, Allen's brother trys to bash the door open unsucessfully. I don't suppose he made a spare key to unlock the door? None of the characters in the story were sympathetic; Tim Allen is a selfish workaholic, Allen's brother is a wimp, the mother is clammy, and the boy himself is a stuck up immature individual. The script was so stupid, I actually became thrilled every time the guy next to me started coughing--something interesting and realistic at last!The acting was miserable; I could really tell that the actors were really trying to do their parts well, but ended up comming across poorly anyways.And just when this film couldn't get any worse, the screen writers just HAD to include cliches such as a love at first sight pre-teen romance, an evil Russian buisness man who wants to kill the protagonists, the jungle boy kills every animal that moves with a poison dart, and a nasty stepmother.Ah, this film was quite enjoyable to laugh at---at all of the stupid things about it that is.

Good for a night by yourself

If you are a young child you will love this movie. If you are an 18 year old like me you will get the adult jokes. This movie was mad to show you how different peoples lives can be. I loved this movie because it had a little romance a little action and a guy in a loincloth. Ok ok ok so that is the only weird part but it is still a good movie. Sam Huntington is a good actor and her should be reconized. Tim Allen was very funny and so was Martin Short. The story is good for children and for adults. The reason I titled this sit by yourself is because I am 18 and none of my friends want to watch it. I love it.

This was kind of a dumb movie, ya know the first time you watch it you might like it but If you see it more than twice in a short period of time, its kinda pushin it, trust me!

Culturally motivating

This is a great film. I love how they encounter two totally different cultures, and show the similarities and differences of different cultures. I love how the parents agree to raise the child how he wants.

Just wasn't that funny.

It would be a natural assumption that since Tim Allen is the main characterin this movie, and that since this movie IS supposed to be a comedy, thatsome of Tim Allen's lines would have at least some humorous content to them. About 90% of his lines were flat and were spoken like they were SUPPOSED tobe funny, but just weren't.As for the rest of the movie, why is it that since someone is raised in thejungle, they are complete idiots? His son could speak two languages, seemedrather intelligent, and yet, he'd kill someone elses fish and eat them,steal catfood from the cat and eat it, and do other stupid things thatsomeone with common sense wouldn't do. The things he did were moreembarrasingly stupid then funny and just didn't create all that manylaughs.Now if we want to look at the point of view of the movie being meaningful asfar as a father/son relationship...well...ok, a big time, job oriented guywith a hot new girlfriend finds out he has a son (with his devorced wife,who is of course, really cool) and the two don't get along until then end,when they suddenly do. Like we haven't seen that storybefore.All in all, just not all that well done. I think the idea could have workedbut it was just a poor choice of a final script.Rent if you're bored, it'll entertain you, just don't expect anything allthat good.

Tim is great

You can't go wrong with a Tim Allen movie. The supporting cast was also good; especially Sam Huntington as his son, Mimi-Siku.

Coolest movie ever

I love this movie for many reasons,the biggest being that the love of my life,Frankie Galasso,is in it.Even though that's why I usually watch it,I can't say it's bad in any way.It's extreamly entertaining,and has good family moments.Definetly a must to see.
