Shrugging off BuffyOnly seen three episodes but not bad.. not bad at all.. Whilst theother stars from Buffy have moved on (Eliza Dukshu, Alyson Hannigan,Nathan Fillion) Sarah Michelle Gellar has never really shrugged off thetag off being 'Buffy', but this show may finally help. The main sellingpoint of this show is that she is in it, so if she does not put up afaultless performance, viewers will not tune in.. Luckily she thrivesin being the 'lead' again and can showcase what a good actress she is.Even though there are other 'actors', ultimately she is the focalpoint. Also the plot is quite different to what we have seen before andit will be interesting to see how the writers develop this, as i am nottoo sure how long the premise of the show can last..Overall, the show shows promise and i am glad Buffy.. i mean Sarah.. isback on our screens! |

The pilot is "meh" but if you stick with it, by episode 3 and 4 you'll be so glad you did. After seeing the pilot episode, I wasn't quite sure what to think. Itwasn't awful, but it didn't outright grab me and make me think "I haveto watch next week", either. But I decided to give it time to develop, and around episode three I was very grateful I had not given up on it,because currently episode seven just aired and it's one of the bestshows I've watched in a long time. Boy, does it improve. The only othershow I've been this interested in this season is "American HorrorStory."The plot really starts to come together by episode three, theperformances improve every week as the actors settle more into theircharacters, and the writing and twists just keep getting better andbetter. This is definitely one show that improves as it goes on.Currently there are so many interesting plot threads and potentialoutcomes that it's like one big juicy mystery/thriller/soap opera that,by the end of episode four, keeps you riveted and wanting more when thecredits roll. It helps that the writers also use the time-honored butcatchy tradition of ending every episode with a cliffhanger, ala"Alias" and "True Blood." The cliffhangers for the past few episodeshave been nothing short of fantastic and if the show keeps going atthis pace, it's going to be one of the most addicting dramas I've seenin a long time. The writers manage to blend the mixture of drama andcrime thriller perfectly so it never feels like you're watching toomuch of either. And as for the double-crosses and the twists, I haven'tseen this much insanity since "Dynasty" or "Melrose Place." Every weekso far has had at least one "WTF!" moment. So, in short, if you watched the pilot and it turned you off, pleasegive it another chance because I promise it gets better as it goesalong and by episode four you will be HOOKED. And for those who haven'tgiven it a chance yet, you don't know what you're missing out on. Makeit through the first two episodes and pretty soon you'll be very gladyou did. The plot is currently truly intriguing and there are so manyways it could go each week and it always leaves you guessing. The showis playing all of its cards right and really got it together quickly tobecome one of the best new shows this season. I, for one, can't waitfor Tuesdays. |

Love it!This has got to be the best show I have EVER seen. I'm addicted, it'scrazy. I have got to say it has more suspense and drama than my othertwo favorite shows (True Blood and The Tudors), for me at least. I lovehow each episode something new and exciting is happening. It keeps youon your toes. I hated when they took that 1 month break from t.v, andhate having to wait a week to see a new episode. I got my sister andtwo best friends watching it now also. Everyone really has to see thefirst two episodes and they will be hooked. I love the CW11 now, andlook forward to watching more shows from them (hopefully they are justas crazy good). I wasn't part of the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'generation, but I'm really glad Sarah Michele Geller came back to t.vso I can really appreciate her as a actress. |

My Thoughts on the PilotI watched the first episode of Ringer the other day without knowing atall what it was going to be about. I hadn't planned to watch thisparticular show this fall but after seeing a lot of promotion for it onvarious sites, I decided I would give it a chance, but after seeing itI have yet to decide if I will become a regular viewer or not. What did I think of the pilot then? The episode felt very rushed in thebeginning. I though the setup of the characters and the main story arccould have needed some more time and work. I didn't really buy why shewould run away and hit that policeman and steal his gun and how shereally managed to do that. Well, I do understand why she did it but itjust felt rushed. Then we got introduced to a sister and without evenhaving the chance to get to know her, she killed herself and it didn'tfeel weird at all for the lead character to take her sister's place. Ithought this was pretty strange and would have liked more time toexplain why and what she felt after this. I would rather have theepisode end here and put more time into the details of this part of thestory, that would have been more interesting.Instead we got introduced to a lot of small intrigues after this. Thestepdaughter with cocaine problems, the police hunting the leadcharacter, a gangster hunting the lead character, a failing marriage, the sister cheating with her best friend's husband and some guy tryingto kill the sister. You would think I described the whole series nowrather than only the pilot but this is what happened. Like I saidbefore, instead of putting effort into these parts I would have beenmore interested in exploring the beginning of the show. If this wasmeant to keep you hooked and meant to bring you back for next week'sepisode, it worked, but not because I'm particularly intrigued by thesethings but rather because I'm confused and want to see what this turnsout to be.I'll give it another episode but I don't think I will give it more thanthat nor do I think the network will, it feels like a pretty lazywritten show with a plot premise we kind of have already seen thissummer in The Laying Game but we will see. |

Amazing ShowI have to say, that out of any other TV series I've every followed,Ringer is absolutely the most mysterious and entertaining series I'veseen, its the type of series where after you watch an episode, you justcan't wait until you see the next one, I often found it difficult towait a week to watch the next one on sky living and went online towatch the next episode, it will keep you on the edge of your seatthroughout every episode, that much I guarantee. The plot, the acting, the choice of actors, everything is amazing, except, maybe it is just me, but throughout the series, i found theepisodes and everything all jumbled, and I found it difficult at timesto understand, however everything added up in the end, with someunbelievable twists in between! Maybe the writing and layout of theepisodes could have improved, however it is still an amazing series.Sarah Michelle Gellar is wonderful in Ringer, an amazing actress whoreally deserves a lot more roles in my opinion, when I saw she wasdoing a series on Sky Living, I thought, what has her career come to ?but I'm so happy she did it because I believe its sheer quality withlaunch her back into the public eye and land her a lot of roles! ZoeyDeutch is also a very bright and upcoming actress in my opinion and Iexpect her to be the next Miley Cyrus, from Disney to big movies, andits what she deserves, her performance in this series, is nothing shortof breath taking in my opinion and I think she adds to this seriesmassively, and for me, was the best actor in the series behind Gellar, utterly amazing.Anyway, I would defiantly recommend this series to everyone! it is anamazing series, a brilliant idea, executed brilliant! I was devastatedwhen I heard that The CW cancelled Ringer, it is a huge mistake onthere part, as I think a second series should have been approved, onceagain, I believe EVERYONE really needs to watch this series as it isexcellent! 9/10 Easily |

TV's most addictive new thriller! The first 10 episodes of season 1 were amazing. Ringer is brilliantlymixing different kind of formats. At first you might think it is only aSoapy Drama because of all the shocking twists and turns but quicklyyou will see the show has a unique touch in the television landscapewith a strong visual identity thanks to dark lightings and confinedsets. Its Thriller / Film Noir aspect is really compelling, respectingall the different genre codes (a complex lead role with a far frombrilliant past, surrounded by strong and important supporting rolesdealing with murder, adultery and treason, a fourth-rate copmanipulated by a femme fatale, night scenes, wet sidewalks, over-sizedsunglasses, trench-coats, firearms...) It is a great quality, matureseries (especially for The CW) with amazing established actors such asSarah Michelle Gellar (The Grudge, Buffy), Ioan Gruffudd (FantasticFour, King Arthur), Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight, Lost), JaimeMurray (The Deaths of Ian Stone, Dexter) and Jason Dohring (DeepImpact, Veronica Mars). I can't hardly wait for the next episodes! |

Can't believe this show was cancelledWhen I watched the first episode of this show I had my doubts. Thespecial effects let it down and when the two twins hugged the bodydouble had hair that was a different colour. But by the end of theepisode the storyline had me fully involved. As the season progressed I got caught up in the whole thing, there werea few narrative strands that were a little dull but come the end of theseason everything meant something in such a clever way. Each episodeended in a cliffhanger which had me watching episodes back to back. Itwas very addictive even in the weakest of episodes it would turn thingsaround in the last five minutes. I wish there was a season two of this as they ended the series with avariety of questions left. Due to the show getting axed I'm not surewhether I would recommend it because although you will most definitelyenjoy all 22 episodes you're left wanting more, and there just isn'tany more. |

The best new scripted show for the 2011-2012 seasonRinger is the most exciting new TV drama so far for the new season. Iwas pleasantly surprised by Sarah Michell Gellar's outstandingperformance and her ability to play two completely different charactersat the same time. The show offers a really interesting plot, combiningdrama, action and suspense. The other cast members are also carefullyselected and are definitely the right ones for each of the roles. Everysingle episode is exciting and unique in its own way. Fortunately, theCW gave Ringer a chance and offered the back-nine episodes, giving it afull season. I really hope that the show will be renewed for a secondseason, as it is the best CW new drama since The Vampire Diaries. |

RingerI was truly looking forward to a Sarah Michelle Gellar vehicle becauseI was a big Buffy fan but I've been having problems "getting into" thisshow. Actually, I wish she would consider doing some made-for-TVmovies. I read that she has difficulty choosing projects because sheseeks out characters that are unique or eccentric in some way which issmart but there are some made-for-TV movies and characters that areunique and interesting and I gotta assume she's been offered some ofthem. I don't understand why she hasn't done more of that since Buffy.Basically, Ringer is about twin sisters (both played by Gellar), one(Bridget) who is being pursued by some underworld drug dealer who wantsher dead and the other (Siobhan) who is in an unhappy marriage with awealthy man. Siobhan fakes her death on a boat with Bridget and Bridgetdecides to assume Siobhan's life in order to hide from Bodaway (thedrug dealer). What ensues is a hodgepodge of deceits, betrayals, lies and twists thatvarious characters participate in. It seems like almost every singlecharacter on the show is deceitful and self absorbed in one way oranother. This is one of the main things that bothers me about the show.True, there are many more successful shows out there with similarcharacterization of lies and deceit (Lost comes to mind) but thoseshows are successful because the characters while being this way arealso lovable or warm in some way that the audience can empathize andcare about what happens to them. There's just something cold andcalculating about all the characters on this show which makes itdifficult to connect with them. Bridget is the only character that ismarginally likable and even though I have been watching every episodefor this season, I still haven't felt that connection with thecharacters yet.Another problem I have with the show is the constant twists and turns. Not that I don't like twists and turns but it's feeling more and morelike the twists are the only thing the writers are trying to use tokeep you watching. It's just that they have thrown so many in that theshow has become inundated with them until it has become too predictableand distracting from what should be the heart of the story lines--thepeople (whom I cannot find anything to truly care about with any ofthem). I do intend to watch to the end of the season (just to see howit all finally plays out) and hope that it doesn't get bumped beforethe last few eps air but even if it were to run into another season(which with the ratings it's not looking so good) I wouldn't be back tosee it. |

Intense, Mysterious FunThis show will keep you on your toes. You need to see every episode oryou will miss crucial plot twists. But it's worth it! I have to disagree 100% with the negative reviews of the show. Theacting, wardrobe, sets, and plot are all great! While every singlesituation isn't believable, it isn't supposed to be. It's called"suspension of disbelief," and those who aren't capable of it shouldnot be watching TV. Besides, those who are fans of "Buffy" and "Lost"are complaining about the show not being realistic? Give me a break!Watch the first three episodes, and I guarantee you'll be hooked!!You'll spend your whole weekend watching one episode after another. Theseries is stylish and suspenseful. While some plot twists you might seecoming, most will surprise and intrigue you--leaving you wanting more.Sarah Michelle Gellar plays the dual roles with aplomb, clearlydelineating the personality differences between the two. Pohala andGroffard are also excellent. All in all, the show is fun, fun, fun to watch even if it isn't themost realistic drama of all time. The biggest shortcoming is the CWcanceling it before resolving the story. Big mistake. I just hopeenough fans watch and comment on the series to motivate the show'screators to wrap up the story in a second season, a mini-series, or aTV movie. |

Unfortunately the writing often hurtsI have seen about a dozen episodes now. By now I can say a few thingsabout this show with utter surety. The most notable one to me is that the authors have never been toNarcotics Anonymous and it shows, badly. I have spent enough time in AAmeetings to know that. The worst part is their notion of a "sponsor."You wouldn't get a sponsor who could be in a sexual tension situation. It's one of the things VERY clearly stated in the "Big Book" ofAlcoholics Anonymous. Yet this happens not once but twice. They use itas a convenience but it hurts to watch. This sloppy writing carries onto other areas and will kill the show. Not even having Buffy and Richard Alpert from Lost is the detectiveafter her can save it. |

Bring Back The RingerI think the Ringer was a great show and I was really looking forwardfor season 2.I really wanted to see what was going to happen next andI'm upset that the show didn't make it.The cast was great and I loveSarah Michelle Gellar. I'm a big fan and I really hope they bring itback, please make season 2 possibly next year. So many good shows getcancelled and its not fair. I truly believe a show this good shouldn'thave been cancelled solely based on only the first season. The showdeserved to have more episodes to see if people responded to it asstrongly as they do now that its cancelled. The ratings should not alsoonly based on TV but the fan base it has on major networking sites likefacebook and everywhere else. Actors do what they love for there fansand I one of the many fans is disappointed I can't see the ringer or myfavorite actors. |

Beautiful and great concept. But sloppy. After watching the three first episodes, I'd thought I would write ashort (p)review. The pilot is basically used to set up the premise, andwhile it lacks the beautiful polish of the following episodes, itreally kick-start the series. And I can forgive the few shortcomings ofthe pilot. The following two episodes were beautifully produced (if that's rightword) and Sarah Michelle Gellar is perfect in her role. The series alsohave that hard-to-put-your-finger-on-and-even-harder-to-achievefeeling. I kind of got a "Cruel Intentions" vibe. But just as withSarah Michelle Gellar, it's a more mature and confident feeling. It'sreally great. There's, in my humble opinion, just one flaw with "Ringer". But it's aflaw that could potentially ruin everything. The problem is that whilethe concept is great, Sarah Michelle Gellar is perfect and theproduction has that great feeling, the writing seems very sloppy. Thereare so many inconsistencies and plot holes that I get frustrated. Theproblem is basically limited to the thriller part of the writing, almost as if that writing was forced in by accountants rather thandelivered by the writers. And if it continues down this path, I think it's going to backfire andruin everything. This is, of course, only my speculations, but I thinkthat the thriller writing must up to par with the rest. Whether it be aproblem caused by money counters or that the "thriller writers" are toojunior or have to little resources. Otherwise I think that this serieswill collapse, and that would really be a shame. |

We hope we can vote to keep it around.Ringer is a show that keeps you wondering what is going to happen nextwith Andrew and his daughter. Also the climax at the end of eachepisode is the most exciting part of next week show, My heart is sodeep into the show, that it is like my own experience with life. Mysister and I are very close with one another that I can relate to thepain that she and I experience with life. Please keep the show going. |

So exciting, so addicting...This is the best new show on TV this year. There are so many twists andturns that I can't tell where to look. Many people are complaining thatthe show is "too complex," and I think it is ridiculous. We are justabout halfway through the first season and it would be silly if therewas no mystery. There has to be secrets and lies; it is the premise ofthe show. There are a few issues that have not been touched upon that Iam so anxious to learn about, for instance, the little boy in thepicture with Shiobhan in the pilot, but I know the key to the show isjust to be patient. By the end of the season, everything will be clear!I am so excited that Sarah is back on TV, and I absolutely love howaddicting this show is. I cannot wait a whole week to see what happensnext. |

"Ringer" is solidAfter the second episode, I've developed more confidence in thisseries. The pilot made me very skeptical, particularly the poorlyrendered CGI screens and typical broken family situations. As weapproach the end of the pilot, serious conflict begins to unravel asBridget adopts Siobhan's identity. The second episode simply got me wanting more. Bridget is graduallydigging herself a deeper hole even though she's trying to beresponsible and accountable for once in her life. If the second episodeis an indication of the rest of the series, I foresee an intense, gripping, scandalous season ahead as Siobhan's scheme unravels.I just hope the viewers will give it a chance. |

One of the best shows I've ever seen. This is the story of two sisters who share the same face. The first isBridget Kelly (Sarah Michelle Geller), a former stripper and drugaddict, who is the only witness to a brutal murder committed by abrutal crime boss. When she gets in invitation from her twin sister,Siobhan (also played by Geller), to come stay with her in New York foras long as she wants, she sees it as her only way out. Siobhan andBridget had a falling out several years earlier, and haven't spokensince. But, when Siobhan kills herself while the two sisters are out ona boat off the Hamptons, Bridget sees an opportunity to get away fromthe trouble she's in. She assumes the role of Siobhan, believing thather life is perfect. But, everyone has secrets, and Siobhan is nodifferent. She lives a life of extravagance in New York, with herhusband, Andrew (Iaon Gruffod. I did NOT spell that right. OK, that guyfrom Fantastic 4.) She soon realizes that not only is her relationshipwith Andrew is going down hill, but that Siobhan is also having anaffair with Henry, the husband of her best friend, and soon, discoversthat someone is out to kill Siobhan."Ringer" is a smart, sly, devilishly sexy, at times gritty, originaland fresh thriller that appears almost like a impossible to solvepuzzle. While the duologue is at times cringe-worthy, it's theintriguing characters, and the fantastic performances from Geller andNestor Carbonell, who plays an FBI agent, that make this show as goodas it is. This show is a must watch. |

Save The RingerA very involving show. The story grows more and more interesting anddeep. The characters are developing deeper and deeper and the actorsplay better and better. After Episode 2 you never can stop. When youcome to know that the story is dropped unfinished - it's a disaster. ABritish invasion to Manhattan. Practically all actors are same good andfit very well to their parts. I would not compare the story with ThePrince And The Pauper is directly, it's another story about twins, butit it very different in many ways. I'm addicted. It has more suspenseand drama than many other shows. It keeps you on your toes. I got mywife and daughter watching it also. I'm really glad to see SarahMichele Geller and I hope when her little baby (second!) grows alittle, she can continue her carrier and revive Ringer. |

Really GREAT show.I really hope they don't cancel this show!! I know that there is wordthat they already have, but i hope they reconsider. This is a greatshow! It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time, and justwhen you think you can predict what will happen next...the plotthickens. I also really like SMG work...and it was refreshing to seeher again in such a diverse role..she does the two sisters great..totalpersonality change each time, excellent acting. CW must stopbroadcasting good shows and then taking them away, they are starting todevelop a reputation for being inconsistent, and a bad judge of goodshows! |

This is not a new takeIt has been done before. Twin pretends to be the other twin toescape. It is not even new that both twins are in trouble. Why make itsimple enough to script sensibly? I am , however, struck by how we areasked to believe that the FBI agent can just walk into her propertylike that, always finds her while no one else sees him.His completelack of regard for the rights of the rich sister. His uncanny abilityto know the phone on the mantle will give him reason to continue toharass the rich sister when it could have been anyone's phone. There is potential in this series but for now the plotting is congestedand incredulous in places. The FBI is chasing their witness, while thebad guy they are trying to put away, now get to do his thing unchecked.Yet in New York chasing the witness, they seem to have super powers. Why did they need the witness if they are so goo? |
